Welcome to BC Guardians

BC Guardians is a network of British Columbia-based organizations, groups, and individuals working to expose and oppose the adverse environmental, social, and economic impacts resulting from the privatization of BC’s publicly owned electricity sector.

The BC Guardians network was established following the 2008 MORE POWER TO YOU conference (Vancouver, BC) to provide an online forum for concerned citizens to share information, access educational and organizing resources, and document the many issues associated with the proliferation of private power projects across the province.

Visit this website regularly to read current news, views, and community organizing information posted by volunteer BC Guardian bloggers, photographers, and associates from across the province. Find out what’s happening in your area—or specific places of interest to you—by clicking on the corresponding region on our map of BC or by selecting one of the eight areas listed on the regional updates tab. You can also read our BC Update section for information highlights from across the province.

If you’d like to support and/or participate in our campaign, join our network of BC Guardians.
